In February of this year, right before the pandemic hit, I had the honor of being appointed by Governor Inslee to a seat on the King County Superior Court bench. I then had to immediately begin campaigning to retain my seat on the bench. While it was a daunting task for someone like me who has never run for elected office before, it was made immensely easier when my friends, family, colleagues in the legal community, law enforcement, and a variety of others stepped up to support me. This support was, without a doubt, the reason that when the candidate filing period closed on May 15, no one filed to run against me, and now I am “deemed elected!”
I am looking forward to my new role as a member of the judiciary and will work hard to make the justice system work fairly for everyone.
My sincere thanks to everyone who supported my campaign efforts.
